We are Red Apple Finance Ltd. We provide premium finance for insurance premiums.  Red Apple Finance Ltd is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.  Registered in England and Wales no. 11248609 at Floor 2, Wing A, Global Reach, Dunleavy Drive, Cardiff, CF64 1HP.

We process your personal information in order to carry out the legitimate interests of providing insurance premium financing to allow you to pay your insurance premium in instalments.

 

How do we collect information from you?

 

We obtain information about you when you apply for a loan from us in order to fund an insurance policy which you are buying.  This information may be passed to us by a financial intermediary who you are using to arrange your insurance policy.

 

What type of information is collected from you?

 

The personal information we collect might include your name, address, email address, bank account details, IP address, and information regarding what pages are accessed and when. If you make any payments to us by credit or debit card, your card information is not held by us, it is collected by our third party payment processors, who specialise in the secure online capture and processing of credit/debit card transactions, as explained below.

 

How is your information used?

  • Assess whether we can provide you with the loan which has been requested;
  • Provide funding for your insurance premiums;
  • Collect payments from you to repay the loan which has funded your insurance premium;
  • Administer your loan and/or repayments on an ongoing basis;
  • Assess whether we can provide further funding in advance of any renewals or adjustments in connection with your insurance policy;
  • Follow-up on any enquiry you have made;
  • Seek your views or comments on the services we provide;
  • Identify and or prevent financial crime, including fraud and identity theft;
  • Notify you of changes to our services or charges;
  • Send you communications which you have requested and that may be of interest to you. These may include information about campaigns, information about products and promotions of our associated companies goods and services.

We review our retention periods for personal information on a regular basis. We are legally required to hold some types of information to fulfil our obligations to insurers and regulators. We will hold your personal information on our systems only for as long as is necessary for the relevant activity, or as long as is required pertaining to any relevant contract you hold with us.

 

Who has access to your information?

 

We will not sell or rent your information to third parties.

We will not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

 

Third Party Service Providers working on our behalf: We may pass your information to our third party service providers, agents subcontractors and other associated organisations for the purposes of completing tasks and providing services to you on our behalf (for example to process payments and send you mailings). The Third Party Service Providers we use at the time of publication of this Privacy Policy are:

Source Insurance Limited – we use this company to provide customer service which supports the ongoing administration of your loan, including answering any queries and preparing any letters which may be required from time to time.

Paragon Customer Communications – we use this company to send your insurance documents and renewals to you.  They will also send other letters to you, including any adjustment notices and cancellation notices.

Hyve Ltd, Amazon Web Services Inc. and Microsoft Corporation – we use these companies to keep copies of all personal data provided to us as a back up in the event of our main office suffering a critical failure.  It is common practice for companies to maintain a duplicate set of personal data so that it can be easily restored in the event that the main data is corrupted or destroyed by an event outside of the company’s control. 

Gamma Business Communications Limited – This company provides the software that we use to record telephone calls for training and monitoring purposes.

LiveChat. Inc – This company provides the software for our LiveChat system, which allows you to communicate with us online in real time.  The contents of any communications you have with us through this channel are stored for a short amount of time within the EU.

LexisNexis – We are required, under UK regulations, to carry out an affordability assessment to ensure you can afford any credit used to pay your insurance premium.  LexisNexis receive your personal details in order to help us meet this regulatory requirement.

Bottomline Technologies – This company provides the direct debit collection services which are used to collect your monthly payments. 

 

Third Party Product Providers we work in association with: We work closely with various third party product providers to bring you a range of quality and reliable products and services designed to meet the needs of insurance policyholders wishing to spread the cost of their insurance premiums.  When you have chosen to receive information and updates from us about our products and services, we may use Third Party providers to distribute this information to you.  When you enquire about or purchase one or more of these products, the relevant third parties may use your details to provide you with information and carry out their obligations arising from any contracts you have entered into with them. In some cases, they will be acting as a data controller of your information and therefore we advise you to read their Privacy Policy.  These third parties will share your information with us which we will use in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

We work with Barclays Bank plc to provide the funds to pay your insurance premium.  As a result, Barclays Bank Plc will routinely carry out audits of our systems, and as part of this process they may receive your personal data.

We may transfer your personal information to a third party in order to process a policy proposal and assets to any third party or as part of any business restructuring or reorganisation, or if we’re under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation, to comply with a request from our regulators or to enforce or apply our terms of use or to protect the rights, property or safety of our supporters and customers. However, we will take appropriate steps with the aim of ensuring that your privacy rights continue to be protected.

You have a choice about whether you wish to receive information from us. If you do not want to receive direct marketing communications from us about the products and services which we offer, then you can select your choices by ticking the relevant boxes situated on the form on which we collect your information.
